Turndown Attendant (Evening Shift)

You'll clean and set up guest rooms at a serviced apartment block in Paarl to a checklist standard. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a serviced apartment block on the Paarl side of Western Cape. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Clean bathrooms, showers and toilets with the correct colour-coded cloths.
• Strip beds, make them up with fresh linen and square the corners.
• Mix chemicals safely and store them as the MSDS sheet shows.
• Do evening turndowns with chocolates and curtain closing.
• Vacuum, mop and dust rooms from top to bottom.

• Weekend and public holiday work
• Grade 10 or higher
• Hotel, guesthouse or domestic cleaning experience
• Honest and trustworthy around guest belongings
• You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift
• You work neatly and notice a hair on a pillow

• Laundry machine and steam press experience
• Chemical handling training

• Uniform and protective gloves supplied
• Meals on duty
• Staff transport from nearby townships for early shifts
• Monthly award for best room scores

• Write how many rooms per shift you managed at your last job; supervisors look for that number.
• Many hotels recruit through walk-ins at the staff entrance, so ask for the housekeeping office and leave your CV there.
