Warehouse Picker (Night Shift)

Pick it right, pack it neat, send it out: that's the job at a clothing distribution centre in Krugersdorp. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Krugersdorp-based, with most of your time spent at a clothing distribution centre. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight
• Pack cartons, add fillers and seal them with tape guns
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin

• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
• You can read product codes and count accurately
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred

• A valid forklift or reach truck certificate
• Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner
• Basic computer skills for capturing counts

• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season

• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
